What is an osteopath?
An Osteopath is a medical professional whose responsibility is to find and fix dysfunction in the body. We help to restore movement and function when someone is impacted by injury, both acute and chronic. Bias aside, we are pretty good at it too! Osteopaths use a number of manual therapy techniques to achieve these goals. These techniques include massage, spinal manipulation, exercise and rehab prescription, direct joint mobilization and more.
Think of an osteopath just like a jack of all trades, or a unicorn of manual therapy on the human body (we can do it all).
When should I see an osteopath?
As Osteopaths can diagnose and treat physical dysfunction and pain, there are a wide range of reasons why someone would need to see an Osteopath. These can include:
- Musculoskeletal and sports related injuries
- Pain management
- Headaches and jaw pain
- Rheumatic pain

Review + Treatment
Glen Waverley Osteopathy
An Osteopath can help you in a number of ways. For some it will be the management and treatment of acute pain and flare ups. For others, it will be returning to a pain free life with a more goal orientated approach. For example, gardening, increased pain free exercise, or even just waking up without a sore back. There is absolutely no reason why you have to stop doing the things you love because your body decided to let you down. Living with pain and discomfort is not the answer.
Osteopaths like to find the root of the dysfunction and treat it at its source.
Common Presenting Problems
Osteopaths can treat and help prevent a wide range of pain and injuries.
